How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
HARDWARE
Camera + Lighting Equipment (Nikon D3200)
What is Hardware?
"The machines, wiring, and other physical components of a computer or other electronic system."
Without hardware, the creation of my media products would of been fundamentally impossible. The hardware is essential as it is the basis for everything I have created or done in my studies, hosting all of the software and data over the year from which my work consists of. It is the physical objects used in the creation of my work.
Without the use of the studio and the equipment I would of been unable to complete a successful media product. I used the Camera and lighting equipment to create the high key images I have used in my work. The work was achieved by following the lighting guide and diagram on the right. The camera settings were based on which gave me the best results. This meant using an aperture I felt would give me the most clear image and then basing the image on the exposure of the lights which triggered in sync with the camera.
Mac
iPhone
Memory Cards + Sticks
Memory sticks and memory cards were quite important in the creation and transportation of my products. I had to use these to move my work from Mac to Mac and to ensure that my work was backed up and safe. The memory cards were vital because that was the way that the camera stored them after taking them.
The mac was the hardware used most in my project. The Mac allowed me to begin my research and planning on the different software and program sites in the early development stages of my product, using sites such as Prezi, Blogger etc on this hardware.. Then I was able to upload and view my photos from the early production stages of my work onto the Mac, followed by the editing of the images which also took place using the programs available on the Mac. Without the Macs high performance power I would of been unable to complete the production of my product or create the research and planning. The Mac was highly reliable and was of upmost importance.
Using my Apple iPhone was also quite useful in the progression of my media products. Using the camera on the phone I was able to take photographs of feedback given in class and upload them to the Mac to add to my blog. This was a quick and efficient way to look at feedback, meaning I had it digitally and as proof on my blog.
